Shaw vinyl plank flooring manufactures many different styles of laminate flooring, a material that is easy to install. Also, it looks beautiful, and tends to be less expensive than hardwood flooring. You can install Shaw laminate flooring over most types of flooring, including tile, wood, and concrete. The only exception to this is carpeting. A Shaw laminate floor can be installed in a typical room on a weekend.
Place the Shaw laminate flooring in the room where you will install it. Check the subsoil to make sure it is flat. Undercut the jambs on the door of the room. Set the bottom layer on the ground. Unroll the base layer along the longest wall in the room. Place ¼ inch along all the walls of the room to allow the Shaw laminate to expand and contract as needed. Install the first row of laminate sheets along the longest wall in the room. Apply a small drop of glue tongue and groove along the bottom edge of the groove of each plank.
Installation of the rest of the floor. Adjust the planks together. Installation of the last row of tables in the room. Measure the distance between the installed floor and the wall. Take that measurement and subtract a ½ inch. Use this measure to reduce the width of the last row of planks in size on a table saw. Installation of the base plate or shoe molding on the expansion joint along the walls of the room.
